So, I haven't done much in the way of updating lately, mainly because I haven't had time, BUT, here is the update!
Tomorrow, June 4, I set off on a big adventure! feeling a bit like Bilbo Baggins to be honest, running out of my house with my bags packed "I'm going on an adventure" haha
but it's true, tomorrow I take that huge step out of my front door and onto a plane to the other side of the world... No not a holiday adventure, a huge life changing moving adventure! That's right, D-Day has arrived, I am moving to the UK to live!!! I'm a bit scared and apprehensive to say the least, but with the support of my family and a few close friends I really believe that I can make a good creative life in the UK.
This means of course that I will be looking for creatives to work with! I need to build a whole new network of photographers, designers, makeup artists and hairstylists! I'm really excited about this!
I'm sad to leave the close friendships that I have made with the most amazing creatives here in Melboure, Australia. Though I know I'm not really leaving them, we are lucky in this day and age, we have the internet and cheap international calling... So it's not really goodbye, it's more see you on the flip side!
I think most of all I'm going to miss who has been an amazing friend, mentor and support in my endeavours, both in front of the camera and life in general! I really hope that we meet up in Europe and tour, taking the most amazing photos in the most amazing places.
Leaving my family for such a long time has been one thought that I have just tried not to think about. I love them unconditionally and do rely on them heavily so this is going to be one HUGE step for me to do everything on my own. (thankfully I do have a support network in the UK)
The negativity I have received about my moving to the UK has been heartbreaking, people I thought were close friends have turned their backs on me and shown me their true colours. I've had extended family also show me a huge lack of support, which has been hurtful, however, those who have shown support and been absolutely AMAZING through the last few months are the people I now hold closer than ever! THEY are the important people in my life! TRUE friends. I can never thank them enough for being there and supporting me in any way they could!
And so, I now am at the final stage of packing up the last 23 years of my life in Australia and looking towards my future in the UK.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
I hope to be able to share more amazing stories and images from my life in the UK.
